ReWilded
Welcome to ReWilded — a true back-to-nature campout for those who want to experience wild camping in its rawest form and give back to the landscape they are camping in. Set on Pine Island at Heggs Farm in the Yorkshire Dales, this is where adventure meets purpose. We’ll cross the river to reach our island home, surrounded by pine trees, flowing water, and a landscape being rewilded one small action at a time. Expect fires, good food, and the kind of quiet that only exists when you’re deep in the wild.

Heggs Farm
Heggs Farm sits in Arkengarthdale, in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales. Pine Island is a secluded pocket of woodland surrounded by the waters of Arkle Beck — a small island crowned with ancient Scots Pines and reachable only by foot and a shallow river crossing. The wider farm is part of a 250-acre rewilding project, with wildlife returning to every corner — from curlews and lapwings to deer and peregrine falcons.
Where the magic happens
your experiences

I joined their first 2025 campout right away, and I’ve taken part in several more since.
I’ll admit, I was nervous at first. I used to be a very social person, but these days I sometimes get anxious in large groups. A lot of my friends and colleagues enjoy different things than I do, so I often felt a bit out of place. But the moment I arrived at the Escape the Lakes Camp Out, all that changed. I met people from all over the country who shared the same love for camping and the outdoors — it felt like I’d finally found my crowd.
There have been only a few times in my life where a group of complete strangers connected so naturally. Everyone came from different backgrounds, yet we all bonded over our shared passion for nature and adventure.
Sitting around a campfire, sharing stories, cooking food, and roasting marshmallows was something I’d always wanted to do with my friends — but they were never interested. Thanks to Camp Wild, I’ve now done this many times with new friends I’ve met through the community. Some of us even plan our own trips together now! Also, the other activities involved with paddle boarding, walks, foraging and saunas really bring the extra fun with each Camp Out having something truly unique about it.

My first CampWild campout and definitely not my last. The energy, the community, the setting — all unreal
