Feast, Fire & Forage

Welcome to Feast, Fire & Forage - our autumn CampOut built around wild food, open flames, good company and spending a weekend properly immersed in the outdoors.

Set in the secluded bowl of Secret Valley near Monmouth, the weekend will be shaped by three brilliant people who each bring something different to the experience.

We’ll head out with Stuart Woodman from Cornwall Foraging, an experienced forager who’ll guide us through the landscape, helping us discover what’s growing around us, what’s edible and how wild ingredients can be used.

Back at camp, Bernie Ben from Bernie Rocket Stoves will be bringing the fire, showing us a different way of cooking outdoors and keeping things warm and smoky around camp.

Then, as the light drops, Thom from Off The Beaten Pot will take over the cooking, preparing a hearty, seasonal meal designed for a cold autumn evening. Think generous, warming food cooked outdoors and served down one long table, with everyone sitting together to eat.

Afterwards, we’ll head back around the fire for drinks, conversation and marshmallows toasted over the flames.

Sunday will be a slower morning, with time for a relaxed nature craft session before everyone begins packing up and heading home.

Expect crisp mornings, muddy boots, crackling fires, great food and a weekend built around slowing down, learning something new and sharing it with a brilliant group of people.

Feast, Fire & Forage

Tucked into Tal-y-coed, just outside Monmouth, Secret Valley is a hidden bowl of meadow and woodland that feels completely removed from the outside world.

Surrounded by rolling hills, trees and wild ground, it’s the kind of place that lends itself perfectly to an autumn CampOut - sheltered, secluded and full of character. Wildlife regularly moves through the valley, the woods sit right on the edge of camp, and once you’re settled in it feels like you’ve got the whole place to yourselves.

There’s also a local pub just down the lane, but back in the valley it’s all open space, woodland, firelight and fresh air - exactly the setting we wanted for Feast, Fire & Forage.

If you’ve ever wanted to reconnect with nature and people at the same time, this is it. Pure joy."
