OUR STORY:
WHERE IT ALL BEGAN
It all started 20 years ago, when lifelong friends Alex and Tom first set out to wild camp on Dartmoor. With nothing but a tent, a sense of adventure, and a passion for the outdoors, they discovered a deep connection to nature that would change their lives forever. Since those first nights under the stars, they’ve been obsessed - obsessed with the idea of making wild camping accessible to everyone.
Alex and Tom are perfectly aligned in their mission to open the doors to wild places across the UK, inviting people from all walks of life to experience the magic of camping in nature. As the founders of CampWild, they’re fiercely passionate about building tools that responsibly and positively connect people to nature. For them, wild camping isn’t just an activity, it’s a way of life, a way to truly understand and appreciate the value of the natural world.
At the core of CampWild’s mission is a simple belief: the most powerful way to understand the value of nature is to spend time in it. That’s why Alex and Tom are committed to creating a community of thousands, fostering a culture of respect, responsibility, and adventure. They’ve seen first-hand how life-changing these experiences can be, and they want to share that with everyone.
Through CampWild, Alex, Tom & the growing team are opening doors to responsible access to nature, ensuring that these experiences aren’t just for the privileged few, but for everyone, no matter who you are or where you come from. They believe that when we experience nature, we become its advocates and champions. And that’s why they’ve made it their mission to build a community that connects with, respects, and cherishes these wild spaces for generations to come.
