An overnight solo stopover at Milehouse Meadow, well the weather wasn't on my side but that didn't stop me, I arrived in the afternoon and parked up in Travis on the right side hoping to be sheltered from the wind and rain, I put the awning up just in time before the heavens opened and dumped the rain. I sat listening and waiting patiently enjoying the sound of the drops hitting the canvas and feeling the gusts of wind rock the tent, by 6pm the clouds parted, and the sun came out. Whilst preparing my dinner the owner and his son came out to the field with their dogs and happily included Badger my collie, in the fun and games of fetch and probably kindly checking I didn’t get blown away. The sun went down, and the night sky became filled with stars and not a sound interrupted the silence. It was probably the best night’s sleep I’ve had in the van so far. By morning the sun was shining, I prepped my breakfast, and Badger went to play once more with the owner and his dogs before I packed away the awning and headed off. What a lovely spot, with chickens and rabbits kept safe in the field, polite hosts and friendly children, freedom to explore, a place I will return too no matter the weather.

A really nice spot and some great locations to choose from. Perfect for anyone’s first time using campwild.uk, you’ve got a lot of options to pitch up. A really nice pub down the road and a perfect getaway from the busy towns and cities!

Wyld Woods

I've camped here twice, once in May and once end of August and it's stunning! It changes with the seasons, from beautiful bluebells, to lush green understory, to dry and clear with a carpet of leaves. The clearing in the middle with the log is a perfect base for a natter and to cook, staying up well into the night listening to the owls. Plenty of flat space to find a spot to pitch. Tip: remember to clear the twigs underneath your tent! And bring a foam pad to kneel/sit on if you need to. We'll be back again to see what it's like in winter!

Truely wholesome weekend with my 5 year old, 10 months old, husband and dog. The bothy so so well equipt which made our experience very comfortable. We can't wait to go back!

These are spaces in nature, almost entirely untouched. In fact some have seen only a handful of people in a generation. The lack of humans have ensured these spaces provide some of the most intimate experiences in the wild you can find now in England. All within a stone's throw of the life we all know.

A HANDSHAKE OF TRUST & RESPECT

When we set out on our CampWild project, we knew it wasn’t going to be easy. As it currently stands, only 8% of England has a right to roam & less than 0.2% has the right to wild camp. But with over 60,000,000 acres in the UK and with now well over 60,000,000 people living in them - where do we even start in our project to revolutionise access to nature?

The answer. Investing (a lot of) blood, sweat and pennies into building the infrastructure that puts our hosts first. Every little detail has been thought of to build a bridge of trust between our community and landowners, so they they can unlock their gates for the first time to the people who want to escape to the wild.

Our bespoke booking system, Code of Conduct, Snap In-Snap Out process, focus on education and passion for conservation puts a stake in the ground that our hosts can trust. We have already met dozens of incredible landowners who are revolutionising access to nature and we cannot wait to see how our network develops over the coming years.
