Pine Island

Pine island is a beautiful, quiet wild space and we had the best couple of nights there. Its teeming with wildlife, curlews, lapwings, woodpeckers amongst others. It's an effort to get to but absolutely worth it!

Heggs Basecamp

I am at Heggs as I write. I feel so privileged to be here, what a spot !! The walks and scenery are amazing. Heggs bothy lacks nothing. The wildlife is wonderful. I do not want to leave. Thanks Heggs and thanks Campwild

Amazing plenty of different pitches depending what you looking for. Great walk in and beautiful natural setting. Plenty of wildlife and fauna to enjoy. Tim was an absolute pleasure to deal with. I would highly recommend

The Eals

Me, my husband and our two dogs had our first CampWild experience at The Eals in Bellingham. The route card was great in directing us there and knowing what to expect. The location was perfect, a fenced-off strip along a riverbank. We loved it so much that we booked a second night as soon as we arrived! There was a footpath across the other side of the river where we waved to some friendly passers-by, but overall the site was private and tranquil. We were treated to a beautiful sunset. There are lots of sheep which roam free but they didn’t disturb us. We loved watching them, especially the lambs. A short walk (or very short drive) is Bellingham centre with a few pubs, cafes and shops to pick up supplies. There’s even a country shop that sells camping equipment! We completed a lovely walk to Hareshaw Linn waterfall which took a couple of hours. The first and last brewery has a tap room just at the start/end of the walk. The booking process with camp wild has been first class, with quick responses to questions and great support. We look forward to booking our next trip!

RECONNECT WITH NATURE

These are spaces in nature, almost entirely untouched. In fact some have seen only a handful of people in a generation. The lack of humans have ensured these spaces provide some of the most intimate experiences in the wild you can find now in England. All within a stone's throw of the life we all know.

A HANDSHAKE OF TRUST & RESPECT

When we set out on our CampWild project, we knew it wasn’t going to be easy. As it currently stands, only 8% of England has a right to roam & less than 0.2% has the right to wild camp. But with over 60,000,000 acres in the UK and with now well over 60,000,000 people living in them - where do we even start in our project to revolutionise access to nature?

The answer. Investing (a lot of) blood, sweat and pennies into building the infrastructure that puts our hosts first. Every little detail has been thought of to build a bridge of trust between our community and landowners, so they they can unlock their gates for the first time to the people who want to escape to the wild.

Our bespoke booking system, Code of Conduct, Snap In-Snap Out process, focus on education and passion for conservation puts a stake in the ground that our hosts can trust. We have already met dozens of incredible landowners who are revolutionising access to nature and we cannot wait to see how our network develops over the coming years.
