We have just had a wonderful time relaxing, listening to the birds and the animals thriving near our tent. The landowner is lovely and welcoming. A great piece of natural Herefordshire

Hazel Woods

Looks like I was the first one to "land" at Hazel Woods and I have to say it is already on my list of revisits. If you arrive on a weekend when there is nothing happening at the main site - you're going to enjoy the remoteness of the location. It's a good hack up a steep hill back to the nearest road, and there is very little in the way of signal down there in the valley. The woods themselves look and feel old, and the views from the creek are stunning. Make no mistake this is a beautiful spot. There's a couple of things I think others need to be aware of though. Firstly, If you arrive at a time when there are things going on at the main site, your in for a busy time. The camping location is right next to the access track, which means zero privacy or feeling remote. Also, it's a bit of a small patch of flat ground clinging to the side of a very steep valley. I'd estimate you've got about 3m sqr to play with, so there is not much room to pitch anything but a small tent or a compact tarp setup. If, like me, you are using a tarp, you don't have much choice in how to align a ridge-line, so you either have to adapt quite a lot just to fit in the space.

Overhall Wildlands

I had a very peaceful stay here. Lots of wildlife around - foxes, deer, birds. I chose a grassy ride to camp in but there were also good options in the meadow and in the woods. Overall excellent.

The Splash

This is one of those places that will stay long in our memories and we will most definitely be returning to! It really is off the beaten track, tucked away down a secure access road that opens up into a lovely woodland with plenty of places to pitch camp. What we loved the most about this place was the swimming lake, our daughter was over the moon to have it all to herself and we all had to get back in the following morning for another dip. Rhis is a great place to come if you enjoy camping and have some good camping gear as there are no facilities other than a compost loo, so get out your tarps, poles and paracord to make it truly unique.

Nature

These are spaces in nature, almost entirely untouched. In fact some have seen only a handful of people in a generation. The lack of humans have ensured these spaces provide some of the most intimate experiences in the wild you can find now in England. All within a stone's throw of the life we all know.

A HANDSHAKE OF TRUST & RESPECT

When we set out on our CampWild project, we knew it wasn’t going to be easy. As it currently stands, only 8% of England has a right to roam & less than 0.2% has the right to wild camp. But with over 60,000,000 acres in the UK and with now well over 60,000,000 people living in them - where do we even start in our project to revolutionise access to nature?

The answer. Investing (a lot of) blood, sweat and pennies into building the infrastructure that puts our hosts first. Every little detail has been thought of to build a bridge of trust between our community and landowners, so they they can unlock their gates for the first time to the people who want to escape to the wild.

Our bespoke booking system, Code of Conduct, Snap In-Snap Out process, focus on education and passion for conservation puts a stake in the ground that our hosts can trust. We have already met dozens of incredible landowners who are revolutionising access to nature and we cannot wait to see how our network develops over the coming years.
