Pine Island

This is one of my favourite Camp Wild locations. It feels secluded, and wild. The crossing of the river also added to the sense of adventure and having a place to yourself. Would totally come here again!

Field End

This is a great space. I had it to myself and had chance to dry out by the river, I even had a cheeky dip. Really recommend this space especially as a stop off on the Dales Way.

I agree with the other reviews in that it does feel secluded, and you definitely have a sense that you will not be disturbed. However, I think this site was really impacted by the time of year, I visited at the end of July, and the water-source had completely dried up, meaning I had to do more dynamic planning around the lack of water nearby than I had originally planned for. There is another stream-fed pond about 1.5 km away, which is where I was able to fill and filter from. A heads up that the route from the trail has also been very much reclaimed by the bracken and brambles, which definitely adds to the sense of adventure, but also danger, especially if you are navigating in the dark or do not have a good full-length trouser. Overall, this was the most expensive Camp Wild spot that I've been to, and it's my least favourite across every measure.

The spot was great. I went with my son who’s a toddler so having good access was easy going. The spot was very quiet. It felt well out of the way & we wouldn't be seeing anybody walk past us which was great. Thanks for having us.

These are spaces in nature, almost entirely untouched. In fact some have seen only a handful of people in a generation. The lack of humans have ensured these spaces provide some of the most intimate experiences in the wild you can find now in England. All within a stone's throw of the life we all know.

A HANDSHAKE OF TRUST & RESPECT

When we set out on our CampWild project, we knew it wasn’t going to be easy. As it currently stands, only 8% of England has a right to roam & less than 0.2% has the right to wild camp. But with over 60,000,000 acres in the UK and with now well over 60,000,000 people living in them - where do we even start in our project to revolutionise access to nature?

The answer. Investing (a lot of) blood, sweat and pennies into building the infrastructure that puts our hosts first. Every little detail has been thought of to build a bridge of trust between our community and landowners, so they they can unlock their gates for the first time to the people who want to escape to the wild.

Our bespoke booking system, Code of Conduct, Snap In-Snap Out process, focus on education and passion for conservation puts a stake in the ground that our hosts can trust. We have already met dozens of incredible landowners who are revolutionising access to nature and we cannot wait to see how our network develops over the coming years.
