Into The Glade

Amazing weekend spent in nature, our host came by to check we were ok/had everything we needed and then left us to it. Absolutely perfect spot to get away from it all, our girls had an amazing time bug hunting, hiding in the woods/tall grass & just being outdoors - would definitely recommend

The Miers

Nice meadow, easily accessible. It is situated at the back of a small row of houses so you don't feel isolated - I've discovered I much prefer isolation! Met Chris who owns the land and he was super lovely and recommended the Red Lion up the road who brew their own beer and I would second his recommendation. Be aware that the Druid Inn has live music which can be heard from the space. All depends what you want - for a first wild camp or a family getting used to wild camping, this space is great. If you want to feel more solitude, then it might not be for you.

Heggs Basecamp

Genuinely a slice of heaven. Throughout the hike to it, I kept pinching myself asking how I got so lucky to be walking in such gorgeous scenery and then the view from Hegg's blew me away. The bothy has everything you need and more and Calver Hill, which you can see from the bothy and starts from where you park your car, makes a great hike. Storm Floris hit the day I was due to go up, but Liz was in contact and so helpful as were the guys at Camp Wild. This is a place I want to come back to and hope I am lucky enough to one day. Magical.

Cascades

Had a wonderful night here. Really close to the car so great if you want to take a little more but can't be seen from the road at all. The waterfall on the road was gorgeous and then dropping down beneath the wild space was another lovely waterfall, perfect for having a freshen up. Gorgeous hills on one side, constant white noise from the waterfall coming from the other. Beautiful.

RECONNECT WITH NATURE

These are spaces in nature, almost entirely untouched. In fact some have seen only a handful of people in a generation. The lack of humans have ensured these spaces provide some of the most intimate experiences in the wild you can find now in England. All within a stone's throw of the life we all know.

A HANDSHAKE OF TRUST & RESPECT

When we set out on our CampWild project, we knew it wasn’t going to be easy. As it currently stands, only 8% of England has a right to roam & less than 0.2% has the right to wild camp. But with over 60,000,000 acres in the UK and with now well over 60,000,000 people living in them - where do we even start in our project to revolutionise access to nature?

The answer. Investing (a lot of) blood, sweat and pennies into building the infrastructure that puts our hosts first. Every little detail has been thought of to build a bridge of trust between our community and landowners, so they they can unlock their gates for the first time to the people who want to escape to the wild.

Our bespoke booking system, Code of Conduct, Snap In-Snap Out process, focus on education and passion for conservation puts a stake in the ground that our hosts can trust. We have already met dozens of incredible landowners who are revolutionising access to nature and we cannot wait to see how our network develops over the coming years.
