We had a fantastic night in a beautiful location overlooking Cardigan Bay. Geraint and family were very helpful with local knowledge and giving us free choice of where to camp within the available fields. We found a nice flat spot for our tent with a stunning view. We had the whole field to ourselves. We managed to access Traeth Bach ("little beach") from the Wales coast path as a small and quiet beach (even on a sunny bank holiday!). Dolphins, porpoises and a seal even came into the bay and a few people went out to swim with them! Just down the road was the much busier Llangranog which was great for facilities, ice creams, a shop, pub, pizza and fish and chips. The other direction was Penbryn beach. We would highly recommend this location and Geraint's welcome. Thanks for a great stay!

We struck gold again with this site. On arrival we were met by the farmer, Geraint, who showed us where to park in his farmyard and recommended where to pitch our tent. A short walk across a couple of fields and we found the perfect spot. As it has been a dry summer the river was more like a stream, but still knee height depth in places. It meant we could sit on the dry riverbank and have our lunch whilst watching the water and wildlife (we saw a heron take off and fly overhead). Geraint delivered some firewood (we asked him for a bag). Once set up we went for a walk, up Battle Hill from the nearby village of Port Faen. Returning quite hot we took a dip in the stream to cool down. We cooked our tea on the campfire we had lit, on the riverbank as the fields were bone dry and too risky. We sat and relaxed, seeing a mink swim past and then run along the riverbank. We slept really well in this secluded spot. In the morning, another dip in the stream and breakfast by the riverbank again. Geraint told us about his other site, up on the hill, so we will have to try that one as well in the future.

Great wild space in the Moors. Super secluded with lots of space to pitch the tents. The fire pit was an added bonus! Easy to park in the nearby church and a short walk down. Will be back!

This was my first camp wild location. What a beautiful place. Me and my dogs loved the walk through the woods to reach the camping spot. River and pools right next to you. Wildlife all around. Perfect night away in nature.

Nature

These are spaces in nature, almost entirely untouched. In fact some have seen only a handful of people in a generation. The lack of humans have ensured these spaces provide some of the most intimate experiences in the wild you can find now in England. All within a stone's throw of the life we all know.

A HANDSHAKE OF TRUST & RESPECT

When we set out on our CampWild project, we knew it wasn’t going to be easy. As it currently stands, only 8% of England has a right to roam & less than 0.2% has the right to wild camp. But with over 60,000,000 acres in the UK and with now well over 60,000,000 people living in them - where do we even start in our project to revolutionise access to nature?

The answer. Investing (a lot of) blood, sweat and pennies into building the infrastructure that puts our hosts first. Every little detail has been thought of to build a bridge of trust between our community and landowners, so they they can unlock their gates for the first time to the people who want to escape to the wild.

Our bespoke booking system, Code of Conduct, Snap In-Snap Out process, focus on education and passion for conservation puts a stake in the ground that our hosts can trust. We have already met dozens of incredible landowners who are revolutionising access to nature and we cannot wait to see how our network develops over the coming years.
