Dan Y Bannau Campout
Last year, The Summit took us to a valley just outside Brecon. It was so good we had to go back and make it bigger, wilder and more adventurous.
Dan y Bannau means “beneath the Beacons”, and that’s exactly where you’ll be. This is the wildest of our four Campouts by a long way. There are no showers or taps at camp, just a river running through ancient woodland, hidden pools to swim in and mountains on every horizon.
On Friday, there’s the chance to hike Pen y Fan, the highest peak in South Wales, straight from camp and back again. Over the weekend, Kay Lou will lead you to a hidden waterfall we’ve only ever shared with CampWild members, for a sauna and plunge. At night we’ll cook over the fire, play games and, if the clouds behave, lie back for stargazing and astronomy talks. It’s adults only and dog friendly, a proper wild weekend in the hills.

Bailea Farm sits just outside Brecon, at the base of the Black Mountains in Bannau Brycheiniog National Park. Our camp, Nant Sere, follows the river through ancient woodland and open grassland, with hidden pools and small cascades to explore along the way.
It’s a proper Welsh valley: rugged, green and full of the sound of running water and birdsong. Out here, the nearest streetlight is a long way off, and you’ll feel it at night.

your experiences

From the moment we arrived, everything felt easy and real. The team, the food, the vibe — just brilliant.
