An absolutely wonderful camp. I filmed my first hot tent camp out of the year here, it was my first time using a Campwild space. location, and the host couldn't have been more accommodating. Even dropped me off some wood in her JCB when I realised I was running short. Beautiful farm with the most amazing animals in tow. Couldn't have had a better experience. I was even allowed to drive into the field I was camping in to drop off all my stuff.

Fantastic location and it's even more beautiful than it looks in the photo. Whilst the pond caught my eye and was a big reason behind the booking, the scenery all around this place is fabulous in pretty much every direction. A footpath goes right by it and if it wasn’t for my own health issues and breathing difficulties I’d have fancied a walk up the nearby hill. As it was, I definitely couldn’t complain with what I did get which was a large tranquil pond, gorgeous 360 views, plenty of wild life to watch, a fairly flat pitch and all of this to myself. You’re allowed to camp anywhere around the pond although I slightly misread the instructions and thought I could only camp along one small section. Luckily that section was enough for me with a fab view though so it didn’t really matter other than I pointlessly carried the heavy firepit when I could have just left it where it was and just camped there. Would definitely recommend.

We had a lovely stay with our two dogs at this lovely location. The host was exceptional, went the extra mile to ensure that we had everything that we needed and more, could not have been more welcoming and accomodating! Fantastic location and would highly recommend!

It's hard to believe that just a week ago I was leaving the bothy after the most incredible two night stay with my husband, adult daughter & her dog. We felt so intrepid hiking down the hill, ford was too fast so we opted for the footbridge. The directions provided were spot on and oh my goodness that first sight of the bothy! It's so well kitted out & felt super luxurious with a wood burner and even a table & chairs. I haven't slept in a hammock before so night one was a bit weird but night two I slept solidly. The compost loo was the nicest one I've ever used. It rained a far bit but we still managed a fire in the outside firepit with views to die for & oh my goodness the silence, with just the rushing water of Arkle Beck. Can you tell we loved it yet!! Will definitely return, thank you to the whole team.

RECONNECT WITH NATURE

20230922_111546.jpg

These are spaces in nature, almost entirely untouched. In fact some have seen only a handful of people in a generation. The lack of humans have ensured these spaces provide some of the most intimate experiences in the wild you can find now in England. All within a stone's throw of the life we all know.

A HANDSHAKE OF
TRUST & RESPECT

When we set out on our CampWild project, we knew it wasn’t going to be easy. As it currently stands, only 8% of England has a right to roam & less than 0.2% has the right to wild camp. But with over 60,000,000 acres in the UK and with now well over 60,000,000 people living in them - where do we even start in our project to revolutionise access to nature?

The answer. Investing (a lot of) blood, sweat and pennies into building the infrastructure that puts our hosts first. Every little detail has been thought of to build a bridge of trust between our community and landowners, so they they can unlock their gates for the first time to the people who want to escape to the wild.

Our bespoke booking system, Code of Conduct, Snap In-Snap Out process, focus on education and passion for conservation puts a stake in the ground that our hosts can trust. We have already met dozens of incredible landowners who are revolutionising access to nature and we cannot wait to see how our network develops over the coming years.
