Photos don't do this place justice! It feels completely wild and secluded and yet takes 2 minutes to walk from the car. Beautiful old trees surrounding a relatively flat ground, make the perfect camp spot. Would love to come back here!

Beautiful little spot. If in Kingfishers Brook itself, you're not by the lake in the pictures, as that is further up, but you are still right by the brook and the gentle sound of running water is lovely. The ground was very soft when I went in early September (boggy in parts but we still had plenty of space for two small tents and space between to share cooking and relax). Close to the car for ease of access but a few steps and you can't see the car at all and it feels really secluded. The landowners are lovely and greeted us - they do have two large dogs who will bark when you arrive but they are gentle giants who are just after a cuddle and were gorgeous. They don't come down to the wild space at all as are behind gates. We went on a brilliant walk straight from the wild space which took us through Macclesfield Forest and past two pubs (well, we might have detoured ever so slightly for the pubs) and we also passed a farm shop on a hike and picked up some venison to cook - all without having to use the car. Also within easy reach of Lud's Church and the Roaches for more good walking. Definitely one I would return to.

Excellent spot to go dip your toes in camping wilder than your average campsite. The lakes feel sheltered away from the world in the woods, and the fire pits scattered about make just about any spot a cozy one. My only complaint is navigation - I had trouble finding the way there without feeling like I was on a local farm's land and couldn't find the compost loo for 2 nights. Thankfully, the land owner helped me out over the phone but a little more information on the Welcome Pack map would take this from a 9/10 to a full 10. Have yourself some fun cooling off from the sun, and book on at The Splash.

RECONNECT WITH NATURE

These are spaces in nature, almost entirely untouched. In fact some have seen only a handful of people in a generation. The lack of humans have ensured these spaces provide some of the most intimate experiences in the wild you can find now in England. All within a stone's throw of the life we all know.

A HANDSHAKE OF
TRUST & RESPECT

When we set out on our CampWild project, we knew it wasn’t going to be easy. As it currently stands, only 8% of England has a right to roam & less than 0.2% has the right to wild camp. But with over 60,000,000 acres in the UK and with now well over 60,000,000 people living in them - where do we even start in our project to revolutionise access to nature?

The answer. Investing (a lot of) blood, sweat and pennies into building the infrastructure that puts our hosts first. Every little detail has been thought of to build a bridge of trust between our community and landowners, so they they can unlock their gates for the first time to the people who want to escape to the wild.

Our bespoke booking system, Code of Conduct, Snap In-Snap Out process, focus on education and passion for conservation puts a stake in the ground that our hosts can trust. We have already met dozens of incredible landowners who are revolutionising access to nature and we cannot wait to see how our network develops over the coming years.
