The Winter Pines

Welcome to The Winter Pines - a cold-weather campout for those who don’t wait for summer to get outside. Set deep in Hayes Wood, this incredible Adventure Campout is all about fires, fleeces, and that feeling of coming together when the air bites a bit sharper. We’ll camp beneath the pines, share food round the flames, and swap stories with other hardy souls who’d rather be here than anywhere else. This is wild camping how it used to be, no fuss, no noise, just good people, good food, and the glow of the fire cutting through the cold.

The Winter Pines

Set just outside Normanton-on-the-Wolds in the Nottinghamshire countryside, Hayes Wood is a secluded stretch of pine forest tucked between open farmland and quiet lanes. Once you step beneath the trees, the world outside disappears, it’s calm, sheltered, and full of character. The woodland floor is soft underfoot, and the tall pines create a natural canopy that makes this the perfect spot for a winter campfire and a peaceful night under the stars.

We joined the cookout campout in October. Loved the location, foraging walk and sauna plus plunge pool. The communal dinner was fab too, lots of lovely people and everyone was so friendly. Perfect balance of organised activities (which were optional) and free time, will definitely be back next year.

One of the best weekends I’ve had in years. Good people, fireside food, and a reminder of how good it feels to just slow down.
